Facebook Unfollow Manager

This tool helps you organize who you follow on Facebook. You can find accounts you no longer want to see, select multiple profiles to unfollow at once, and let the tool do the work for you safely. Whether you want to unfollow all following, clean up your feed, or export your following list, this tool handles it all.

To use this tool, you must:

  1. Have the Koptan Chrome Extension installed.
  2. Be logged in to Facebook in the same browser.

Download Koptan from the Chrome Web Store

Open Facebook Unfollow Manager

This tool manages your Following list, which includes:

  • Pages you’ve explicitly followed (brands, organizations, media outlets)
  • Public profiles (celebrities, politicians, influencers, public figures)
  • People you sent friend requests to who haven’t accepted yet (they appear as “Following” instead of “Friends”)

Important: This tool does NOT target your actual friends. To manage your friends list, use the Unfriend Tool instead.

What happens when you unfollow:

  • You’ll stop seeing their posts in your News Feed
  • They won’t be notified
  • If it’s a pending friend request, the request remains pending (you’re just not following them anymore)

Remove accounts that clutter your feed with content you’re no longer interested in.

  • How to do it: Use the Global Search to find specific accounts or browse the full list.
  • Action: Select the accounts you want to unfollow and click “Start”.

Unfollow People with Few Mutual Connections

Section titled “Unfollow People with Few Mutual Connections”

Accounts with zero or very few mutual friends might be people you don’t know well.

  • How to do it: Use the Mutual Friends Filter to set a range (e.g., Min: 0, Max: 10).
  • Action: This will filter the table to show only accounts with between 0 and 10 mutual connections, allowing you to easily select and unfollow them.

Export Facebook Following List to CSV or Excel

Section titled “Export Facebook Following List to CSV or Excel”

Need a backup of your following list or want to analyze the data?

  • Export Data: You can export your following list to CSV or Excel formats.
  • What’s Included: The export includes Names, Profile URLs, User IDs, and Mutual Friends count.
  • Backup: We highly recommend exporting your list before performing any bulk removal.

Click the “Sync from Facebook” button. The tool will fetch your following list from Facebook and display everyone you’re following in a table.

During Sync:

  • You’ll see a progress indicator showing how many accounts have been loaded
  • You can pause the sync using “Stop Sync” and resume later with “Resume Sync”
  • The sync process is safe and mimics human browsing behavior
Section titled “2. Backup Your Following List (Recommended)”

Before making any changes, we strongly recommend exporting your following list as a backup:

  • Click the “Export” button above the following table
  • Choose CSV or Excel format
  • The file includes: Names, Profile URLs, User IDs, and Mutual Friends count

Important: Once you unfollow someone, you’ll need to manually follow them again to see their posts. Having a backup ensures you can reference your original following list if needed.

Use the available filters to narrow down your following list:

Filter Options:

  • Global Search: Search for accounts by name across your entire list
  • Column Filters: Click the filter icon in any column header to filter by:
    • Name: Search for specific names
    • Facebook ID: Filter by user ID
    • Mutual Friends: Set a range to find accounts with specific mutual connection counts
  • Clear All Filters: Reset all active filters at once

Viewing Results:

  • The Total items count shows your total number of accounts you’re following
  • The filtered count shows how many accounts match your current filters
  • Use pagination at the bottom to browse through large lists
  • Last synced timestamp shows when data was last updated

Following List Table: The table displays accounts you’re following with the following information:

  • Profile Picture: Visual identification
  • Name: Clickable link to their Facebook profile
  • Facebook ID: Unique user identifier
  • Mutual Friends: Number of mutual connections
  • Actions: Individual “Unfollow” button for quick single removals
  • Check the boxes next to individual accounts you want to unfollow
  • Use “Select All” to select all filtered accounts at once
  • The Selected items count shows how many accounts you’ve chosen

The tool comes with safe default settings, but you can customize them:

Timing Control:

  • Min Delay: Minimum seconds to wait between each unfollow action (default: 3-5 seconds)
  • Max Delay: Maximum seconds to wait between actions (default: 7-10 seconds)
  • The tool randomly varies the delay within this range to appear more human-like

Sleep Control:

  • Sleep After: Number of actions before taking a longer break (e.g., every 10-20 actions)
  • Min Sleep: Minimum seconds for the longer break (e.g., 30 seconds)
  • Max Sleep: Maximum seconds for the longer break (e.g., 60 seconds)

Action Control:

  • Total Actions: Maximum number of unfollow actions to perform in this session
  • Max Failures: Stop the process if this many consecutive failures occur

Tip: The default settings are optimized for safety. Only adjust if you understand the risks.

Click “Start” to begin the unfollowing process.

During the Process:

  • Progress Bar: Shows overall completion percentage
  • Status Indicators:
    • Ready: Accounts queued for unfollowing
    • Processed: Total accounts processed
    • Success: Successfully unfollowed
    • Failed: Failed attempts (if any)
  • Action History: Real-time log of each unfollow action
  • Control Buttons:
    • Pause: Temporarily stop the process
    • Resume: Continue from where you paused
    • Stop: Cancel the entire operation
  • Start Small: Try unfollowing just a few accounts first to see how it works.
  • Backup First: It’s always a good idea to export your list before you start unfollowing accounts.
  • Use Filters: The Mutual Friends filter is particularly useful for finding accounts you may not have a strong connection with.

Is this safe for my account? Yes. The tool works slowly, taking breaks between actions to act like a real person. This keeps your account safe.

Can I unfollow many accounts at once? Yes, you can select as many accounts as you want and the tool will unfollow them one by one.

Can I undo this? Yes, you can manually follow the accounts again from their profiles. However, we recommend saving your list first so you have a reference.

What’s the difference between this tool and the Unfriend tool? The Unfollow tool manages pages, public profiles, and pending friend requests. The Unfriend Tool manages your actual friends list. Use this tool to clean up your feed from pages and public figures, and use the Unfriend tool to remove people from your friends list.
